Early Morning, Banteay Srei

Banteay Srei - Mid 10th Century Situated 34kms from the town of Siem Reap, Banteay Srei is vastly different from the other temples I've seen. Where, most are grand in scale and some completely overwhelming, Banteay Srei feels like it's been miniaturised. The night before, Cambodia was hammered by a fierce thunderstorm and according to the newspapers 800 houses were destroyed and a score of people injured. The good that came of it was the rain washed away the dry season dust and the colours became incredibly vibrant bringing out greater detail in the carvings than I have ever noticed before.
